Since its founding, our firm has been deeply committed to protecting and advancing human rights in Israel. We represent NGOs, civil society organizations, and private individuals in a wide range of proceedings involving civil liberties, anti-discrimination efforts, support for marginalized communities, protection of the right to protest, and the principle of equality before the law.
Our firm has developed particular expertise in legal advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community. We represent Israel’s leading LGBTQ+ rights organizations — including The Aguda and others — in landmark litigation aimed at securing equal rights and eliminating discrimination based on sexual orientation. Our notable cases include petitions to the Supreme Court regarding surrogacy for same-sex couples, marriage equality, parental recognition on birth certificates for same-sex mothers, and a labor court case that led to the extension of spousal benefits to same-sex partners.
In another major constitutional case, our firm represented the Israel Women’s Network in a successful petition to the Supreme Court, resulting in a landmark ruling mandating appropriate representation of women among government ministry directors-general.
Our approach is rooted in multi-disciplinary legal strategy, identifying the most effective legal avenues to promote human rights. One notable example is a complex and precedent-setting class action we filed on behalf of 1,300 women who were denied access to IVF treatment at Laniado Hospital because they were not registered as married. After a lengthy legal battle in the Central District Court and the Supreme Court, we secured the highest monetary judgment ever awarded in a discrimination-related class action in Israel.
